Splicing Simrad Transducer Cable
« on: April 15, 2023, 07:10:23 PM »
I don't know if I'm in the right section of this site but here's my question in long-form!  :93: I have a 2003 Aquasport Osprey 205 and I am trying to install my new simrad 3-1 transducer cable through the hull. However it gets stuck halfway when trying to pull it through. The connector is bigger than what was previously on the boat. I have tried everything and don't know if there is another way through the hull to get the cable through.

I didn't want to cut the transducer wire and solder and splice so I did a Google search and found this  Airmar Inline Cable Splice kit IP67 10 conductor Waterproof and was wondering if this will be a viable solution to my dilemma. I really would rather not cut the wire but if I have to this looks like the safest way to do so.

And advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,

Steven
