Man that is cool!  How does it run with that 150? When I get mine done I'll bring her down and we can race! I bet even Bob likes your boat now! Absolutely looking good!

Aquasport79, how does the 196 ff ride?  I've got one I've been trying to restore for 10 years...lol.  I've never ridden on it.  I was going to put my 115 four stroke suzuki on a bracket on it.  Is the ride in chop pretty good?  My 23 carolina skiff beats the crap out of me.

How does it ride? 19.6 FF

-First of all I use this boat only in open waters of the ocean and not in bays-

Well, the boat does not handle a head on wind sea chop of over 2+ feet very well (20+ knot winds ), and you end up either slowing way down and driving it like a car or banging and banging, getting air and vibrating your teeth!
If the head - on condition is under 2 feet of wind chop,  it is an excellent ride and pretty fast.
What this boat does  well is coming home from 20 miles out in the pacific and blasting down and running with the wind and swell. In those conditions I can almost go full out (30-40 mph)

The stock tank is a Rear 50 gal. tank. I also installed a 25 gal near the front of the boat. Most of the time I never fill the 50, because it puts way to much weight in the back of the boat. (also have a 30 gal livewell in the back ) With the 25 gal. I can go about 75 miles, If I need to go more I usually just bring a couple Of spare 5 gal jugs along.

Thanks Rickk.
Aquasport79, I would be using it alot in the Neuse River in New Bern, NC.  It's a big river that usually has some nasty chop.  I would also use it nearshore off our coast.  In your opinion, is it worth my time to finish this boat.  I am also thinking of a pilothouse which I have drawn out and have started  a mockup. I tried to attach a pic but it's not working. How well would that 115 push that boat?

19.6 ff rebuild?
Well, It's just a matter of just how much work needs to be done to the boat and how good you are with your hands. Just Create a list of all fixes to get it shipshape and estimate dollars and man hours. How much we talkin?
As far as the 115?
It would be a bit underpowered... a 150 would be good and a  175 it would be great. You need the extra power for tides, swells and wind chop. If it were a flat lake and just used for fishing a 115 might be ok, but still on the slow side (like 30 mph max).

First post here.  I've got a sweet 1972 19-6 that has had little modification over the years.  Still has the original plate on the transom and the serial # reads E271.  The HIN is MSZ05378B202 per title.  Just repowered this past wknd with a Evinrude E-Tec 90hp.

I'll post pics when I figure it out (already read the post on 'how to' but no luck)

Our photo gallery is being worked on right now - there is only 2 posts in that "how to" link, for the time being only read the LAST post to learn how to use photobucket to post pics.

I am, but it's always for new members.  Good news is we now have a new IT person working on the site so maybe we'll have the gallery back up soon
In the meantime I may delete the first post from the link leaving only the photobucket portion - should have done that a year ago I guess
