What brand is it?  I know some Furuno products WAAS must be selected.
(Furuno and Raytheon were mortal enemies.  Raytheon developed WAAS for the FAA)

It has to be turned on in every Garmin that I have seen.

Yup, there is a choice in case you decide being 1000ft off is ok.  :cyclops:
