When you take into consideration what a brand new boat costs and the immediate  and aggressive depreciation they face, I think many of us are way ahead in cost savings. I would never afford to buy my boat new, and as previously mentioned I got her for a song ($1,000 with the trailer). I have many upgrades to go before I am anywhere close to what new costs. Plus, as most of us get, there is something about these old Aquasports. I love the heavy fiberglass and the weathered pitted teak... The new boats are all too clean for me. Lastly, I am still waiting to hear a logical explanation for the euro transoms which are so overwhelmingly popular. Why would a fisherman want 3 less usable feet and be almost 4 feet from the water at the stern? Don't get it. Loved my 200ccp and can't wait to finish my 246ccp..... Someday
