Subject: Adding a second station to a boat

There is a boater adding a second steering station to his boat and he has hydraulic steering now with the 1.7 helm and was told he could not use that in a dual station boat with a Mercury Outboard.

For the controls section the MT-3 can be used in a dual station boat as long as you also use the DS unit.

You can reuse the older style Mercury control (Not Gen II) but you can not use the Mercury style (600A) control cables.
You will use the CCX633xx control cables for every thing.
At the engine end you will use CA27319P for the Mercury stern drives and outboards. Inboard that kit would be CA27373P
At the Mercury control end you will need to use this adapter kit 301074.
All of those kits will do both the throttle and the shift cable.

Below is our catalog pages on the DS unit. There is one page for outboards and the other page covers both inboards and stern drives.
