I'm pretty sure pull is fwd also.

Aswaff, the motor is super clean, but as importantly, look at the condition of the Teleflex cylinder...you don't see 20 year old ones looking like that too often!  Excellent pick up!

Just keep an eye on that cylinder ram for any scratches or nicks...I'm sure you know this already, but... :D

no scratches on it, said one of the seals has a very very slight leak that developed over the past 2 months, gave me a seal kit for it... like i said, this guy was very anal about the boat/motor.

Damn, can't beat that with a stick!  You got the spanner wrench for the end caps laying around in the shop somewhere?

no buy my neighbor has one, ill borrow it from him when i get the hoses in...

i just backed the boat about half way into my garage (at my house) to do the wiring/shift/throttle cables, motor is almost too tall to fit in the garage door    had to tilt it down all the way and still had only an 1/2 inch of clearance.

Your not planning on taking it out for a shake down run on the 4th weekend  are you?  I call the holidays amateur weekends.  That's where all the idiots with more dollars than sense head out on the water.  The can't get the boat backed down the ramp... they have no idea of the rules of the water..  The marine patrol, police, CG and everyone else is out too.  No thanks I'll stay home!    :P

just because you can buy it doesn't mean you should drive it

That is downright scary.... even more reasons to stay off the water on holidays...  Guys with 750+ HP boats with no idea of how to operate them!     I really think there should be some sort of a required boating class and/or operators license for boats greater than say 16' and with more than say 90 hp or something.

Doesn't appear to govern 900HP 38's...
Quote
Anyone born on or after January 1, 1988, who operates a vessel powered by 10 horsepower or more must pass an approved boater safety course and have in his/her possession photographic identification and a boater safety identification card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. A person is exempt from this requirement if there is a person on board who is not affected by this law or is at least 18 years of age and holds a boater education I.D. card. This person must be attendant to and take responsibility for the safe operation of the vessel and for any violation that occurs during the operation.

You must be at least 14 years of age to operate a PWC.

Anyone who is convicted of a criminal boating violation, any boating infraction resulting in a reportable boating accident, or two non-criminal boating safety violations within a 12-month period must attend and successfully complete an approved boating safety course and file proof with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The violator’s privilege to operate a vessel in the state will be suspended until proof of course completion is filed.
