"above waterline" thru hulls
« on: March 13, 2013, 04:08:04 PM »
I've been collecting parts for my boat all winter/spring with the anticipation of getting a "new" motor this April. One of the things I was wondering about what your choice of through hull for the front "cooler" that drains at the port bow area. Mine is the original polymar and I'd like to replace it with either a SS or bronze Perko through hull.

Q: what did you guys go with?

Q2: is there anyway to prevent the bronze from turning green? or is there a good cleaner for that?

Q3: any different suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Chris,
Have you given any thought to the Sta-lon type of t/hull?  SS cap on an acetyl resin body.  The look of SS at a fraction of the cost...

Chris, did you see the thru hulls on my boat?  Mine are bronze and I do not have any issues with them turning green.  I clean mine up with wax and elbow grease when I wax the hull sides.
