It is not an exact science... at least not that I know of.  I typically start with resin and add fibers until I get the desired beginning consistency (maybe a cup and a half of fibers to a quart?  I will have to measure next time).  Then I start adding cabosil as I go.  I aim for a peanut butter type of consistency.  If you add too much cabosil, just add a little resin to thin it out.  I always make mine slightly thicker than I really want because when you add the MEKP it thins the mixture anyway.

Shine might have "exact" mixtures... he is a pro with this, literally.

Add cabosil until it gets like peanut butter... you cannot use too much as far as I know.

For most fillets, we use a woodflour (fibers) and silca mix.  About 4 parts woodflour to 1 part silica by weight.

To make about 1 quart of fillet material, I would start with 9-12 oz of epoxy, then add the fillers until I get to the infamous peanut consistency.

Or maybe, its more like Humus   :D

Here is a fillet on my 222 (not glassed yet)

And the same one just after being taped down (biax tape, not mat) glassed.....

8)  I wish I had something worth reporting :?

In the next couple months we will have much more time for projects around here - the AS is now #1 on the list.

Its all small stuff from here on out.  Next week the console and leaning post go in.  I will get some pictures and update the thread

Joel
