Title: Rubber toggle switch covers
Post by: Powers on April 06, 2018, 11:17:53 AM
Hi all,

I have an '87 170. One of my toggle switch rubber boots ripped and I figured it would be simple to find replacements and just replace all of them. NOPE. Ordered two sets by mail order and the thread on both are far too coarse. Went to the local hardware store with the one I have off to try to identify the thread- nothing SAE or metric matches up.  They appear to me to be original as the boat was very well kept. Any ideas? Trying not to have to remove the panel. This should been easy...

I replaced my toggle boots on my 91 with this type/make.

They fit the factory switches I have which I believe are Carling(sp). I do know that I replaced one of the toggle switches with a Sierra Marine and it fit that too.

This is the type I have.

Good luck. :thumright:

Thanks Cap!

Looks to be the one right next to the one you tagged. (full boot).

Thanks again.
