"Official" Classic Aquasport Miami Boat Show Report
« on: February 19, 2012, 01:59:22 PM »
Greetings boaters,Pete here reporting from Mecca,or the Miami Boat show, call it what you will, anyway spent the day there yesterday and had a great time with the Admiral, ate at trendy south beach sidewalk cafe after, nice day.For those not familiar with the show let me breifly explain the size of it.It takes place in several venues both in water and in and outside of the Miami Beach Convention Center. The main floor of the convention center is mostly boats and every boating mfg you can think of,with a seperate hall for just electronics and one called dive and travel, the great thing about having all these mfg reps all in one place is that you can ask them any qustion you want and compare products and learn about new ones with out pressure to buy. Then you can go upstairs to the Marine Mart where,if you want it they got it and you can compare prices to get the best deal, there are more displays out side the convention center and buses to take you to the in water display and mega yaght row on Collins Ave.,Never made it to that, would really need 2 days to see it all, heres some pics and vids,enjoy....

Five 350 Mercs  on the back?   I guess maybe I really NEED 1,750 HP on the transom of my fish boat.   :thumleft:

That 482SS is sweet!

Hacker-Craft makes a cool retro boat - interesting price too - competitive with glass boats.  That one in the picture goes for about $125K I think - which is comparable to similar fiberglass boats.

Awesome pics Pete!!! They were giving rides on a 29 Seahunt with one of the 557s on the back , check out the video. They are talking having two of these rather than three Yammie 350s on a lot of larger boats.

How'd you manage to get Mike Carrigan to close his mouth long enough to get a pic?

And that Hydra-Sports with the "Jungle Gym" tower?  I mean, nice pipework, but jeez louise!

I always stop and see Mike when at a show, told me a good story about you, that when they told you to find a $100 solution to a problem your solution cost a $1000,in other words he said that you were not concerned with cost, just quality, very nice guy always takes the time to make me feel important.Glad he found a home with Bluewater, they make a quality boat. :salut:
