74' 240 sideconsole almost done with first round of rebuild
« on: February 25, 2011, 10:54:35 AM »

new gas tanks, new hatch covers, teak teaked, electric being done today, and thats it for now, next up is a full transom add on, engine platform, and custom designed aft, rhino lining and done...

also cosidering a hard top from the cuddy door to the side console... possibly even the tower they show in the old photos, any ideas on what would look good?

Totally bias opinion.

I would install a tower that looks like the old factory model and have canvas made to look the same.

Retro+.

that tower is pretty cool, if i went that route i would probably want rod holders across the back, the transom is going to be built up and a engrine  bracket added so i dont think there'll be much retro going on, the old school design of the backend kind of forced my hand in remodeling it...

also what about the hard topped "caribbean style tops, maybe a little forward covering the bunks to the front of console...?

That would be neat too, since she's still set up as a dayboat style. Those setee's are way cool.  :thumleft:

Yeah, but the I/O drive is "kinda" similar

Can't help ya there but it looks like Aqua was thinking along those lines with that under tower Bimini top although it doesn't give the full coverage you suggest.

Good luck and keep posting. :thumleft:
