Original Location of Bow Eye on CCP
« on: October 18, 2016, 07:21:54 AM »
My 20 CCP had multiple bow eyes and evidence of many improvised repairs.  I'm getting close in my rebuild to a point where I need to locate mine.  Could you CCP owners please tell me the original bow eye location?  Are they above or below the point where the lines formed my the chines come together at the bow.  Thanks for any help.

Back when long time member JD had a 200 CCP. Original as far as I remember at this point. Note bow eye location.

His 222 Location is same. Again original.

Not sure if the 200 had a bow lifting ring but on the 222 that lift ring is connected with threaded rod to the bow eye.

You do have a lifting ring. That should indicate original (factory) location. :ScrChin:
Would you not use that?

Good luck. :thumright:

Thanks, Capt Bob.  I can see from the pictures that it is just above the pt where the Chines meet.  The threaded rod on my lifting ring was no longer plumb which made me doubt its location.  I've got enough info to proceed now.
