I check in off and on. Been working on housing improvements for our two sons. Boat hasn't seen water in over two years. Priorities change and I'm not getting any younger.

I recently had a local Marine Electronics company tell me that hull access was limited from above for the installation of twin through hull transducers and that the location would be less than optimal. Have any of you installed twin through hulls on a 1986 290 TM?

Getting ready to repower my 1999 215DC. Pretty sure I’m going with a Suzuki 200. Current motor is a 1999 Johnson 200. Couple of questions below - all input is welcome.
- Often idle in and out of shallow waters. Any suggestions on a Jack plate? Brand, setback, etc? - Looking to add trim tabs. Electric vs. hydraulic? What size?

That hull/trailer combination would be over the capacity of that vehicle. Whether it will be successful at towing it down the road and whether it’s a safe option would be two different answers (legally and safely). Why not find a cheap ½ ton truck and use as your tow vehicle? Some of the weight that you might be forgetting are as follows: Trailer – approximately 950lb Fuel - 6lbs per gallon Ice/drinks/live bait well – 8.4lb/gallon
