Transom crack
« on: August 25, 2008, 08:24:22 AM »
I have a crack that runs across the top of my transom horizontally. It appears to be at the top of the plywood below the fiberglass cap. Previous owner sealed it with silicone and the transom is solid. I would like to fix it properly. Can the edges be feathered and rebonded or does the entire transom need to be replaced? I will try to post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

Welcome aboard naytep  :!:  :!:
You'll see that same crack on a lot of Aquasports. I would dig out the old repair and just seal it with 5200 or 4000.  As long as the transom is good, no need to worry, seal it up and you'll get years of good use out of the boat..
