how much lower unit oil???

How much oil does it take to fill the lower unit of a 1995 yamaha 150 saltwater series????I changed it but do not know how much to put back in.....

I can't tell you exactly how much, but I usually put in enough till I start getting some spillage from the top plug.
The worst day fishing is better than the best day at work!!

And make sure you ALWAYS fill from the bottom plug!  A friend of mine learned that one the hard way.  We had always told him not to do anything that took more tools than a screwdriver (not mechanically inclined in the least), unfortunately this job ONLY takes a screwdriver  :(

The way to fill oil in the lower unit is definitely to fill from the lower plug. You attach the pump to the lower plug and open the upper plug. Then you pump oil in until it flows out of the top plug with no air bubbles. Just pumping until you get the first flow out of the top is NOT enough. There is some waste but, take my word for it, this is the ONLY way to do it right. I have watched the authorized service guys do it this way.
