1974 aquasport 222 inboard
« on: July 19, 2021, 04:45:19 AM »
:awife: hello, I have a major problem! last September I bought a project Aquasport 222 inboard(5k$).needed a floor says marina owner.newer replacement engine(125hrs).so when fiberglass floorman(same marina) inspected the boat says he say its in good shape worth fixing,no wood rot etc. weell agreement was to pay in monthly payments by March 2021.it was paid off as work began.now I have found both wood rot ,wet &dry by using this Asport website since last year.never knowing about boat construction I asked questions here.know I fell unsafe in accepting the boat thats still not fininished. he never replaced the foam under floor saying its good(1974 Asport hull).after removing factorty teck rod holders someone sat on gunnel. I looked as much flex was seen with his weight on it.anyway after a re moval of knee rests on gunnels a mold covered sheet came off from under gunnel. he said its from original boat's maker glass mold but thats ok! replace stern driain liners(4). 1 was dripping water captured in glass-wood layers of stern construction. let it dry he says a week smear 4200 sealant &install new liner. I want to see a lawyer now as my findings have made all my work,(his floor.my labor on other things)& a lost fishing season!! now 5000.for boat,12000.00 for floor(coosa&glass) NO BoaT use!! still on blocks in marina yard!! please anyone may advise this situation?? me say I'm a AHOLE but dum B@V the time of purchase!!  dakota
