Transom will be (2) 3/4" thick MDO boards sandwhich together and glassed.  Same with the splash guard that was there.

MDO is the closest to marine ply without being marine ply.

spent most the weekend working on the console, sanded, replaced inside shelf, glassed it in and started filling in the holes.  I'll get some pics up shortly.

Been shopping for fuel tanks, the tank I took out was 56" long x 20" wide x 6" high.  Anybody replace there's? Where did you get it?

Thanks in advanced, Mike

Phil has been producing quality tanks for members for years and is the go to guy in the NE.

spoke to Phil today,$300.  Seems very reasonable.

Anyone have any luck with a plastic tank?

I'm putting in a plastic tank. I hope to have luck with it...
I have made mine easy to replace, even after I put my center console on the boat. I can go stainless steel if I have any problems with this plastic tank.
I hope not.

Plastic is forever - just make sure you leave room for the initial expansion.

Where did you find one that fits?  I hadn't planned on adjusting my stringers or existing well.

My old tank measures 56" x 20" x 6" (plus 2" for fill neck).

If you have any marine surplus places up there I'd check them too.

The drawback (if it is one) to poly is that it comes in predetermined sizes. Aluminum can be custom made. Still, for most situations you can find a poly that will fit the space you have.

Good luck.

I went with a smaller tank. It has the place to grow, both sideways and length wise.
It's only 43 liters, or 11.5 gallons. It will work for me, since I have to lug gas to my mooring anyway.
