ALL TERMS IN mph PER GPS , circle is that per gps? its seems kind of high, what are the rpms you runing at?

Yes MPH per my Garmins,i use two,i get 55-5700 RPM out of her,one reason may be i don't have a hard top,and when the Bimini tops are tucked in the boots not a lot of drag,i would also be curious on the motor mounting heights on the boats.

250 CCP Honda 225 17p. Dont run it wide open very often but I know I have seen 41mph at 5500. I will confirm speed and RPM this weekend. Cruise at 3800/4000, 25/28mph at 6/7gph on flow meter. Average around 3.75mpg with this prop on a normal day Dolphin fishing.

AS's are no speed demons but seems like by what everyone has posted so far, i have the fastest AS on a regular basis... gets up to 45-47 mph in a heart beat but takes about another 1/2 mile to get from 45 to 53

a 200 osprey at 53 mph is quite a fun ride 8) , now if only i could hang a 250XS merc optimax on my transom

I could mount a chevy 350 on a Go-Cart and achieve similar results  :?   I'm just giving you a hard time, that kind of performance does sound fun.     I just don't know if I could ever walk away from 6mpg.

Got the Mercury Enertia 15 X 15 yesterday from Ken at Prop Gods for a trial run today.  Boy that is one different looking prop from what I have seen with all these other ones.  The blades are larger, seem to be a little thicker or heavier near the tips of the blades, and the ventilation hole I can stick my finger through.  So this afternoon I have three final runs to do, #1 the original Yamaha re-pitched prop (15.25 X 15.5), #2 New out of the box PowerTech 15 X 15, and #3 the Mercury Enertia 15 X 15.  I am going to make a quick spreadsheet with RPM, Speed, GPH and any notes on general performance.  So I should be able to see afterwards which one is the best value, I know Ken said the Enertia was $500... I think the powertech is around $300.  More later

Well I guess there are worse ways to spend the afternoon than cruising around testing props??  The Mercury Enertia
15 X 15 took it hands down, just looking at it next to the 15 X 15 powertech, it dwarfs the PT.  The blades are larger and a different design, and it really gets some bite, just what I needed for this big heavy Osprey.  Here are the detailed numbers, the WOT is about the same, but the cruise speed-to-RPM is where the Enertia excells, and the dig coming out of the hole is night and day.

                POWERTECH 15 X 15                       MERCURY ENERTIA 15 X 15
RPM
2500          9.2 MPH @ 5.5 GPH                        10.5 MPH @ 5.8 GPH
3500          15.5 MPH @ 8.4                             22.5 MPH @ 10.2
4500          29.5 MPH @ 11.6                           32.1 MPH @ 12.9
WOT          5600 RPM, 38.3 MPH, 20 GPH           5500 RPM, 39.2 MPH, 19.5 GPH

Also, the enertia can be trimmed up more without a tendancy to ventilate, holds better in cornering.  I think the bottom line is, the Enertia pitch for pitch is a superior prop, but you will pay for it.

Thanks to Marc for giving me a test run with the prop.  Took the boat out Thanksgiving day (which was beautiful).  Here is the comparison with my prop.

The prop that I have been running is a 13.75 X 17 pitch.  Here is what it did:
4000 rpm's = 25mph
WOT was 5500rpm's = 38mph

The prop that I will be getting from Marc(14.5 X 18 pitch)  Here is what it did:
4000 rpm's = 30mph
WOT was 5200 rpm's = 40.3mph

It was windy the day I did the test.  As for the top end, not much difference but could have got a little more if I would have trimmed her out more.  Hole shot was a great improvement.  Appears that at cruising speed I picked up 5mph.  Lost a little rpm's at WOT but the other positives outweighed 300 rpm's.  Feel like it is a good fit for my Mercury.
