Gel Coat for cracks and chips in mt 2001 215
Scode68:
I have some chips, cracks and drill holes in my 2001 215s gel coat and was wondering if it was worth it to Pay $252 for a quart of Spectrum Color's gel coat?
RickK:
Looks like they sell repair kits for $53.
Scode68:
Actually Rick, I called them last fall and they stopped carrying a lot of the older color repair kits. I would have been fine with getting one or two of these cause I don't need much, but they are just not out there for the 99-04 white. My only options with them are a quart or a gallon.
RickK:
I was thinking it would be hard to match. So for a qt they will match it? Pricey tho. Being it's polyester based, it will start hardening the day it's made, with hardener applied or not.
Scode68:
To be honest with you since the boat is 23 years I can't expect a factory match actually being perfect. I wouldn't mind something that is just close. I'm only dealing with some spider cracks and a few chips.
