reinstall lower end Johnson 225 VRO 1989
« on: May 12, 2007, 10:00:10 PM »
Last week it was very difficult getting the lower end back into place even with a helper. All was well though as the waterpump ran well then today at the end we slipped out of forward again and again. According to the Seloc manual I had to readjust the shift rod which I did. But this time, have been unable to reinstall because the shift rod won't slide in the hole right before the shift yoke. I have taken off the lower case. The rod is in the correct position, straight, with the double bend facing forward. I tried too snaking it through with a wire. Is it possibly twisting as it goes up? Are there any tricks here. Please any help or suggestions would be great. I hope to get it done tomorrow.
