1968 Simmons Sea Skiff
« on: September 27, 2012, 05:50:59 AM »
Here a some pics of a 1968 Simmons Sea Skiff, NC 6726 G. This was the first boat I ever bought. I got her in 1978 and sold her in 1989. About 15 years ago I discovered one of my customers had bought her. The owner after me had neglected her. She has now been restored, Carolyn and I took these photos last night.

I'll dig up some pics of when I had her and post up.

Here is a link to the Simmon's site:

Very nice sea skiff! Similar idae as the Bartenders and Jersy skiff, good utility skinny water rides with style!

There's a guy in our area that has 2 of these. One is a larger skiff with a center console. He is on the pensacola fishing forum.

Bet he does too! They are great boats. Mahogany framed, old juniper marine ply lapstrakes. They rode like a little cork.

Kraw, more than likely the gent there built the boats from these plans, see link below.

On the link, the picture to the left is yours truly and my buddy live baiting for King Mackeral, 1984.

Had her rigged with all the latest gizmos...CB radio, AM/FM radio, VHF radio, Sitex 787 loran, Sitex paper machine, outriggers, downrigger, raw water livewell, Lovett auto bilge pump that had to be rebuilt every year  and a chitload of antennas

In the pic, we are running on autopilot...a velcro strap wrapped around the steering wheel

That boat could catch a fish. It could also drink beer and eat chicken and do things I'm not allowed to say on here

Man....those were the days :thumright:
