Ok,  we need to break all this down into smaller projects otherwise it becomes  too much to fathom.
You mentioned a few things about foam and gunnels - where did you find foam in the gunnels?

Aluminum - I hope you're talking about planning aluminum into the tops of the stringers and not the transom (I think I remember you saying the transom will be full).
So much to talk about and find out if someone here has already failed at this or has some suggestions.

Haven't posted in a while. My father's retirement boat is coming together nicely. We have templates that are made and measured for where the new Marine Board will be epoxied into the hull.

Should my father and I go with 2 part foam or marine lb foam? A lot of discrepancies about why 2lb foam does not work the same way as 4 - 6 lb.

We are going to move the new C.C. up about a foot and put a new Al tank under the deck where the viewer is.

This move is also coming from the idea that my father and I perhaps will re-power the boat.

Really looking for your thoughts about re-powering. Currently 115 Evinrude. - new 150 with gilly-tabs? and what that means. wiring and gas lines to the back...

Looks like you have made good progress.
You can use marine 2 lb 2-part for flotation but should use 4lb 2-part foam for inside the stringers - the foam is actually structural inside the stringers. What marine board are you going to be using?

As for the new engine - a 150 is perfect for the FBs. What is gilly-tabs?

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a good Memorial Day.

Rick the what I call gilly-tabs are Engine Brackets. We are looking at re-powering the boat with either a Mercury or Yamaha 150 with an Engine bracket.

We are going to move the tank up about a foot and install the new tank under the deck where the viewers are. My father and I do see it as a novelty and a waste of space. We can stick our heads under water if we want to see what is below.

And also move the C.C. up about the same amount to help offset the increased load of a new engine.

We also started chipping away at the transom and have almost all of the old wood out. I will post a better picture soon.

Thanks for all the support,

best
