Toggle switch question
« on: March 30, 2010, 08:43:56 AM »
I'm replacing the toggle switch for the aft courtesy lights on my 245 Explorer and would like to put a rubber boot on it. My problem is the glass is so thick there that I don't have enough exposed threads on the switch to screw on the boot. I've looked everywhere and can't find a switch with a longer mounting post. 15/32" seems to be the norm. Any help out there guys?

I'll assume this is after you removed the original mounting nuts, both front and back

I asked because that's what I did to get enough threads for mine. I placed a thin washer on the back side of the switch in place of the nut and used the booted nut to tighten the switch down. Make any sense :?:
