Does anybody know of a way to correct the angle of the helm/steering wheel for a Baystar steering unit? I'm replacing an old teleflex that had an angled mounting bracket that corrected for the angled dash. Looked online and it seems the wedge kits available only work for the larger Seastar unit.

Gonna try contacting Seastar. Seems odd that the Baystar helm doesn't make a wedge.

Seastar tech support got back to me right away. The seastar 20 degree wedge assembly can be used in 2 of the 4 configurations. Unfortunately the behind the dash co figuration won't work. I can live with it I think.

Managed to strip out the stainless bolt and tiller threads while installing the steering cylinder. The stainless bolt that the required Seastar Spacer kit came with( 2 1/4" 3/8 x 24 thread) isn't so easy to get a hold of. I ordered a helicoil set to rethread the tiller. Wondering why the tiller needs to be threaded in the first place knowing that the cylinder is secured by the lock nut on top any way. Could I just through bolt the new bolt and not worry about rethreading the tiller?
Also, I'm kind of surprised the tiller threads are not metric being a Japanese motor.
