Matt,
You can actually buy those at HD...but I have found they fall off over the years, unless you use a dab of epoxy on the stickum side.  However, I find that one is limited as to where any extra stuff can go, and believe me, this Cape Horn has a lot of extra stuff.  I prefer to bond PVC board to the verticals of the console, it gives me a bit more "creative leeway"...

She's almost done, be right back...

The Cape Horn is almost done, a little vid.  Sorry, still kinda recovering from the sciatica, so I may sound a bit stupid...

I like using the PVC board bonded to the inside of the console for more or less "lightweight" things, rigging, small components, etc.  The heavier items, for instance that wall where the charger, structure scan, etc. are mounted?  1/2" starboard t/bolted to the console.  Plastics America on Adamo does me pretty well.  I also t/bolted some starboard where the Sonic Hub is located, that unit actually has a 200W amp in it, so it has some weight...

Tell you what. That boat is deluxe.

What a clean job. It shows too. Little things...and safety things...like LED's in the bilge areas.

You boys down there...you don't know how fortunate you are to have a craftsman of his expertise.

Scott,
Check your PMs.  And thank you, I try to do my best, and have a little fun thrown in...

To all.  I try to do my best, to give an owner a boat that, under the skin, he'll be proud of. Shiny gel coat is nice, but if a boat craps out 30 miles offshore, all that shiny gel coat will get you is a sun burn from the reflection.  The boat's systems have to work...

Didn't really pay attention Rick, but, yes, it was.  Nothing like a sunset over the Gulf... :thumleft:  :thumleft:

Especially when you can see the "green"...you know what I'm talking about...

Piece of cake Pete.  I was very surprised at how well they lit up the compartments.  I had to fab stand-offs, as they are flush mount, and since the Cape Horn has no coring, had to get creative.  And, of course, you don't know what you did is going to work until it gets dark...I was pleased...

It all looks really nice. Those LED spreader lights did a great job too.

If Marc could dig up a Chinook for rent...you'd be rigging a Carolina boat next :flower:

Mark,
Believe it or not, AS consoles are actually pretty easy to get in and work on. Most of the 200s and 175s have an insert on the forward face (glovebox/shelf) or footrest, remove that and it opens up the whole front side.  Yeah, you do a lot of the work laying on your back or side, but a comfy pillow makes life more bearable... :thumright:  :thumright:

Now the 215 DC?  Well, lets just say that if you are of substantial girth, you're not getting in there!  Myself?  I fit in through the door, but you really want to remember all the tools you need, as you don't want to have to get out until you're done...

Bob i think it's time for your own boat improvement tv show.

From the Beautiful Waters of Weeki Wachee FL We Bring you Seabob's Shipyard with your host Seabob.

Start that on you tube and you will be on tv in no time.

Now you just need some sponsors  :D

:thumright:

Great idea Scott. And not that far-fetched.

Take a look at someone like Paula Dean...ten years ago she and those boys of hers were delivering bag lunches.

And Little Rachel Ray...ten years ago she was working in the kitchen dept. at Macy's.

Now Paula makes 20 mil and year and Little Rachel 30.

Bob...you can be the Emiril Lagasse of "Boat Improvement"

And Baby Girl can be the sidekick!
