The Divinycell we used to core the hull sides was scored on one side in a square pattern. Great for varying curvature.

On the website they also offer solid sheets for deck use. If that is the product you're eyeing, and it's a deal.....lay it up :thumright:

Great material for light weight coring, but doesn't hold a screw very well.

The only thing I'd be screwing down would be a couple pie plates and one bilge and a storage hatch do you think I would need to core for those in the foam board or no.  And also how much weight do you think I will save

The weight savings are fairly substantial vs. plywood.

Since those hatches will be between the stringers...you could glass in some Penske board or plywood beneath the divinycell to hold the screws. Penske board would be the better choice as it won't rot.

Thanks for the info guys think this is the route I'm going I don't have a day off till Monday so hopefully he will still have some left.  Excited about the weight savings and the no rot (even though the rest of the build is marine ply) but have sealed it all up real good and over drilled and filled all holes so hopefully everything will work out.  Thanks again

Good deal. The big hatches are the only ones you'd really need to "back up". The pie plates will pretty much glue down with whatever you bed them with....then add some screws for "looks".

What thickness are the panels?  I would think you would want at least 3/4" for the deck.

They are 3/4 thick.  I mean I'm sure the guy is really trying to sell his stuff but he states that it's the strongest in its class.   Haven't had a chance to get to see them yet but will Monday and hopefully purchase.

if 3/4" isnt too thick for a fuel tank cover, ill buy a 2'x4 piece from anyone who buys a sheet and doesnt need the whole thing.  could arrange to meet in sarasota at some point.
