5200 is for marine (and other) - liquid nail is for construction work, non marine.  They make a few different size tubes of 5200.  You don't have to use a lot of it, but you'll probably use a caulking tube for the cap of wood on the stringers.

I knew I should have spoke up sooner.

Are you using Doug Fir Marine plywood?

It will "Check" with just resin coating on it. It need's a layer of light weight glass on it to stop that. 4oz or 6oz on the bottom side will stop the checking and be fine.

Buy your 5200 at one of the box home store's. Lowe's has it in the paint department for about $10 or $11 a calking tube.

The regular stuff will set in 24hrs, but take's 7 day's to full cure.

Hmmmm!  Not would I would have done. Still with no pix's. I don't know.

A new section would have been scrafed in, if the rest was in good shape.

FYI a digital camera is not just a new gadget. It's a tool that will pay for itself. It will also give a recorded history of what was done to the boat.

But it's main use is to display your area's in question or help other's whith their question's and idea's.

Hey Wart, nice new signature  8)
"Check" means what in your definition?  Cracking when it flexes?  (I do have a place or 2 where it did crack.)  If so, can he still recover from this by glassing the top of the floor?

floor looks great Im going to get some pictures one of these days,I added one more layer of 1/4 on top of the 3/4, then I gave in on the fiber glassing and had it done profesionaly and I,m glad I did because the amount of grinding it took was too much for me.Then he did the gel coat with the glass beads what a awsome finish added a couple of tempress hatches and the inside is better then new.Does anybody know how far back the seat is from the console?Total cost for the floor project was 1300.00...thanks for the tip on the gelcoat and glass for the floor you could never get that at a store from a container

Glad we could help  8)
I read this quote on one of the GPS forums "If you think you have a problem now, wait until we solve it" - hopefully we're better than that
For the perfect fit, I would set the bench seat in "dry" and sit on it comfortably, the way you would while you're under way - back against the backrest (if you have one) and relaxed.  Then make sure you have ample knee room (nothing worse than whacking your knees everytime you sit down) and can access the storage area without too much trouble.

If anybody needs the hatch that goes in the front of the console where the windows are under ,that lives local to nj they can have it for free if your willing to pick it up.I also have some of the original wood thats in good shape thats not going back on.I have 2-27 gal fuel tanks from 1991 that dont leak and there in good shape too,I dont want to use old tanks with a new honda.Does anybody know of a fuel tank that would be the same size as the 2 27gal. to fit under the console I want to go with one single one?thanks again for the tips on the stringers/floor I'll get some pictures up soon.now comes all the re-wireing fun
