Bennett M120 on 215 DC
« on: June 09, 2012, 11:53:32 AM »
West Marine has the M120s on sale for $400. Seems like a good price.

Question: Where do you mount the Hydro Power Unit on a DC?

Starboard rear storage (under seat) contains two batts, fuze box, and batt switch. Very little room here.

Port rear storage has oil reservoir and RACOR fuel filter. Probably not a good idea to mount it here either...

Can this be done with the two batt config?

Smart tabs a viable option?

Thanks

With long enough piping, you can mount it under your console area.
On my CCP, it was mounted under the center console on top of the  factory tackle box.

Because?
Lack of space?
The unit isn't real large. Currently, mine is located in the port storage compartment with my oil tank on my WAC.

Sure. Number of batteries has no bearing on unit operation other than space constraint.

The "two batt" question was based on:
1. No room in rear starboard compartment (due to batteries taking up all space).
2. Being a chicken, I didn't like the idea of mounting an electrical unit near the RACOR/Oil Res...
3. Didn't realize the helm was an option. With 20' of hydro tubes included, this a great option. Plenty of room in the helm.

Thanks for the info Capt Bob.

My pleasure.
Depending on the bells and whistles you add, all/most of your electrical should end up under the helm.

I've done many an install with the pump in the console.  Works just fine...
