1994 200 Hull to deck delamination??
« on: May 10, 2008, 08:39:08 PM »
I am looking at a 1994 Aquasport 200 that looks very nice, but the floor (deck) is "bouncy".  It flexes with almost every step.  The CC has been refastened and recaulked, but if you put your weight in front of the seat at the front of the CC, it depresses away from the console.

There is no major crack/crazing in evidence.  Is the deck solid FG, or is it cored or backed with a stiffner such as plywood?  Is is common for the deck to delaminate from the stringers and cause this?  If so what is the fix, short of completely pulling the deck off of the hull and regluing/recaulking to the stringers and/or restiffening with another plywood back?

If this is not the issue, any ideas on why the softness in the deck?

Thanks!
Captain Jim
