Fuses under the console panel
« on: March 21, 2010, 12:38:16 PM »
I need the fuses under the console control panel, for the wipers, horn etc.   They are 3-5 and 10 amp square with buttons on them. I have a 2001 225 Explorer.  Any ideas? West Marine had NO CLUE.

Do you mean breakers, not fuses?

Likey this?

4th row down on left

If so, here's a link. Click on circuit breakers  in left margin. You'll need to scroll through to page #35.

If this isn't it, a pic would help.

Well, Bob, seeing as I answered the post 2 hours and 10 minutes after the question was asked, I guess that would be me...

So what was "wrong" with my answer?

I derived my response from yours, that is, I assumed you knew what was under there.
Since no response, maybe it's not the right answer, hence "wrong".

But I'm betting your not.

CB,
On an '01 Explorer, there were no fuses uses except for the ones in the black breaker/fuse box in the bilge, starboard side, and the in-line 20A for the tabs (if the boat has them) under the helm.  The wipers and horn were protected by breakers on the helm switch panel.

So unless the PO added a fuse block in, the OP is looking for replacement breakers.

Hopefully he comes back and tells us... :?

Bob,

Looking at the 2004 catalog photo of a 225 helm, would the 2001 helm look similar?

If so, then the switches are along the bottom row and the breakers are along the top, correct?

Those would be the "push button" breaker types :?:  that replaced the earlier model "push'n'twist  :compress:  fuse holders like I have on my 84 and 91. They still look similar to the old style fuse holder but don't have the lettering "FUSE" with the directional arrows on the top. I think both fit in the same size cutout also.

That's gotta be what he meant.

Capt Bob,

Thanks for your help. It is the breaker with the botton on it. 5amp and 10 amp and a white 3amp for the wipers.

Hate to ask but, are you guys crying about me not responding? I will not even explain why but let's just say- WTF?   :pukel:  :ncool:    :puker:
