Mine is not a CCP, it is a flat gunnel 19'6".  I think that it is a "family fisherman" model but I am not sure.  We  completely restored it and repowered it.  I posted a couple links to what pics I have of it and am going to get some more, especially of the work done on it.  I really like the boat because of its versatillaty.  I like the CCPs a lot too but I have never seen one in person.

Barnacle Bill - wanted to see if you remember, with your time at Aquasport, ever seeing a hull on the model 222, that had 'clear plexiglass panels', glassed into the hull, in the compartment forward of the console.  I've been trying to find out, for quite awhile, if these panels were factory installed as an option on some 222's:

These are in my 1970 222.  Any light you could shine on these babies would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am pretty sure those glass bottoms were factory because I have seen others with them.  All the ones I have seen are 222s so I don't know if any of the other models had them or not.

Thanks Pinchin' Crab!  Do you happen to know what years the models you saw were?

That picture looks like St. Andrews in Panama City, is it?.
I've taken my old boat there on vacation several times from
Houston. Caught lots of kings.  Nice boat.

Thanks for the complement.  We are proud of her and yes, that is St. Andrews at PCB.  We mostly go out of there and Destin, but lately I have enjoyed PCB mush better as the pass is not nearly as rough.  The Destin pass is absolutely beautiful with the emerald green water and all but it is not uncommon to hit a ten-footer coming and going out.  We try to get down as much as we can and have caught lots of grouper, snapper, kings, spanish and dolphin going out at PCB.  The old AS performs like she was new.  One little note...the big pine in the picture was taken out by Ivan and it looks different now.  That tree had been there forever and was just twisted off at the stump.

Seadog, I am not sure of the exact years for the glass bottoms but I am certain that I have seen some late 60s models on the internet.  I wish that I knew more about them.

I own one of the very last Hialeah built boats, a 17.5 osprey built
in 1989,with a 1990 model year. I have to admit that Genmar
fit and finish is far superior to anything that came out of Miami. Have
never looked under the inner liner in the new boats to see if they
are now cutting corners in the hull area, but I have to believe they
are not as strong as our old fiberglass tanks.

If anybody is interested, My boat is for sale due to a post hurricane
chain saw/tree cutting injury.

Barnacle Bill,  Have you been able to get in touch with any of the old crew from your days at Aquasport?  We are putting together a serious effort to collect any info. from those days.

Any info. you can kick in will be of great value to the folks who now own the boats you built.

there was definitely a logo change when genmar took over.  It was accompanied by the striping on the side of the hull.
