Prop for 01 Johnson 90 on 175
« on: September 15, 2007, 07:42:16 PM »
I am currently running w original equipment aluminum 14x17.  I am looking to switch over to stainless and would like to add a little top-end.  I boat mostly in lakes and don't pull skiiers.  Would appreciate if anyone could recommend a good choice.

Thanks!

Talk to your Johnson dealer and get his advice.

What RPMs are you running at top speed?  Stainless props are more efficient and can be cupped more than aluminum, so you may want to stay with the same pitch and more cup if you are running close to max RPM with a 17.  At the same time, if you are running below max RPM, you may want to go up to a 19 to get more efficency and speed.
