Loose steering column on Osprey 175

Hi all...new guy here.  I have an Aquasport Osprey 175 (2003).  My steering wheel shaft is loose since a few weeks.  I checked all the fasteners and all looks good.  The unit below the deck where the shaft goes into is quite rusted.

Any advice?
