kicker bracket
« on: June 25, 2011, 11:24:29 AM »
I have a 2000 245 explorer. It has a single 250 hp johonson outboard. I have a swimm ladder on the port side. It is the euro transom. I hope to put the bracket and the kicker on the starboard side. I am concerned about space to put it and if I need a long shaft or short shaft for the kicker. Then I wonder whose bracket would be best. I also wonder about how to tie them together, ez steer for instance. Can you mount tthe bracket directly on the transom, is there space and does the angle of the transom allow it without any blocks?

some advice wouuld be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jim

Welcome aboard Maz,some pics of my setup below,i use a Garlick bracket that is adjustable and a short shaft 15 Yam,keeps it out of the water when not in use,as for steering,if your not in super tight quarters, lower the big motor so just the skeg is in the water and steering with that works very well.
