Title: 2000 250 Osprey.. Couple of questions..
Post by: 81walkaround on October 07, 2010, 08:29:25 AM
1) Does anyone know the make/model of the nav lights on the bow?  I want to replace mine.

2) Has anyone successfully put a T-Bag on the hardtop model (nice and tight, not sagging)?

3) Does anyone know the make/model of the gauges?  I need to replace my two tachs (they dance around and get stuck at certain rpms until i bang on the glass a little)

4) Does anyone know the make/model of the compass... mine isnt working too well..

5) Can someone post a picture of the lower seat clamp on the console seat?  mine didnt come with one and i'd like to buy/install one.

6) Has anyone ever replaced the panel with all the switches on it?   i'd like to know if someone makes/sells nice pretty new ones and more or less what they go for..

Just trying to fix up all the 'little' things that get on my nerve from time to time

Thanks all!

I just bought a brand new switch/breaker panel original OEM, all wiring exactly the same for my 245 Osprey at http://themarineconnection.net/Electrical.html (http://themarineconnection.net/Electrical.html) the thing is, I will have to take a picture of mine and send it to them to see if they have the exact one.  Pete was just down there not too long ago, and I think he said he saw another panel, just like the one i bought?? (Pete).  I think I paid about 160 for the complete panel.  The way they figure the electrical panels is; they charge a set price for each component in the panel, like, $5 for a breaker, $7 for a switch, etc... then they add those components up and that is what you pay for.  The best part is, you are not paying for the panel, the wiring, or the labor that went into that panel to build it.  Originally that replacement panel would have probably sold from Genmar for around $350 (just guessing).  Where are you located?  This place is in Ft. Pierce Fl, and they have a lot of Genmar (Wellcraft, Aquasport) stuff.  If you want, let me know and I will take a pic and send to you for you to contact them.

Marc

they have alot of stuff for your boat at marine connections at ft pierce, they only problem is that it is not very well organized, you have to go there and dig thru alot of stuff to find what you want and alot of it is not priced, you take it up to the counter, they call they boss and ask"hey!how much is this"pretty funny actually.its a huge place with a lot of stuff, they have alot of genmar aquasport odds and ends, decals, logos, cushions, canvas, elec panels but it is all mixed up alot of one ofs.be prepared to spend the day and you may come away with a treasure.the last time I was there I dug thru a huge bin full of side curtains[3 hours]to try to find some for a member with an explorer, did'nt find any but I did find a brand new in  the pkg cc enclosure for my boat for $10!it is the exact dup for mine and brand new!anyway go there if you can, bring lunch, they don't mind you digging as long as you put it all back.stuff like your compass and lights can be easily replaced with modern ones from you local marine store, get the LED lights they are much more reliable. And lets see some pics of your boat!
good luck bro!

Beauty boat!

BTW, where's the backrest for the leaning post?

seabob, i moved the dome light (so the 10.4" screen would fit), and i also put in that fuse block you see.  normally, my wiring is much cleaner, but i also just installed a new vhf antenna, and ihavent re-zip-tied all my wiring yet.

needless to say, its not as 'clean' as it should be.

pete, let me know if you think that t-top canvas will fit here. i love that idea.

Nice boat!

I wouldn't recommend an actual "T-Bag", but a custom made bag from your canvas shop.  I had a T-Bag that I paid $100 for, and it lasted less than a year.

Had my local canvas shop make me a custom bag, it holds 6 life jackets, looks much nicer, and will hold up alot longer.

I also did this DIY job to add a hinge to a non-hinged leaning post, and installed a mesh basket underneath the seat.

81,
She is definitely one of my girls, although a few things have been added since I last saw her!  Note how the 3 main plugs of the hull harness are broken out and secured with adel clamps, they merge back together above and below the breakout.  There should be a terminal block and a ground bus below the device at the lower right of the pic...
