Plastic Rodholder Rings for Under the Gunwhales

I'm not sure the exact name for them...but I need replacement rings/sleeves for the horizontal rodholders under the gunwhales on my 205 Osprey.  They are white plastic, maybe 2-1/2 to 3" in diameter and about an inch or so long, and get inserted into the holes where the rod tips and butts go when being stored.  My 200 Osprey had them as well.  Anybody know where to find them, or what they are called so I at least know what to ask for?

That's pretty close, Bob.  They look a bit more heavy duty than the ones I have.  I'll have to take some measurements and see it they'll fit.  Thanks for the link, and a good name for them (trim rings).

My trim rings have an ID of about 2-3/8", compared to the 2" ID of the ones in the link.  My OD (or the size of the hole they go in) is about 2-1/2" (my rings are pretty thin-walled, about 1/16").  Unless you know what the OD is, I may have to call them and see if they can provide that info.  I'm not real fond of losing some of the ID, but they do look beefier than the ones I have now, so hopefully they will last longer.

Those original rings we used back then were pretty chintzy compared to the Marine East ones.  You could always go to the rubber type like this...http://www.thmarine.com/products/Fishin ... ty-Grommet

I've had those before - maybe they were original on my 1996 Osprey (?) before I had the dealer replace them with the kind I have now on the 205.  All I remember is that I didn't like the way they grabbed the guides as I inserted or removed the fishing rods.

I agree that the ones I have now are chintzy.  The Marine East ones definitely looky sturdy.  I'll call them about the OD.

I got mine from Marine East. I did have to call them to get all the dimensions, but the woman was very helpful. I bought the ones to screw in and had to remove the original rubber gasket that was around the hole to insert them. They are much beefier than the originals and look good.

Those seem a little small, Capt. Bob.  The hole size where they will be installed is about 2.5", whereas the OD of the flange on those are apparently 2".  

I did what skyliner did and called Marine East.  I must have spoken to the same woman - she was very helpful, and even went and pulled one from stock so that she could get me some accurate dimensions.  I ended up getting the ones without the screw holes.

Did they just pop in there?  or did you have to thread them into glass?

They just pop in.  It looks like they have threads in the picture, but it is really just flexible ribs.  I used 3M 4000 as an adhesive.  They are a perfect size to replace the original thin trim rings.

Marine East makes some good stuff, as well as listening to the boating world to come up with new stuff we want!  Been dealing with them for a long time, one of the best companies I know of.  T-H is not far behind, but I'll take ME...

I believe they are Marine East 4635W.  Click on the link in seabob's first post above.  I think they have the pictures reversed for the 4630W and the 4635W (the 4630 has screw holes).  Best bet is to give them a call to make sure you get the ones you want.  They are very helpful.
