Length of 1979 20 ft aquasport shift and throttle cables?

Not sure of the length but its fairly easy to get get a piece of rope and combine measurements from the helm then measure back to the corner of the transom, then from there to to the motor. This is what I did on the 222. I then added 4 feet to that so I could route the cables where I wanted to.

It's a 20 ft 1979 Center Console.......Boat is in the Bahamas....can't measure now because I’m in the U.S. now.......want the measurement so when I fly back they'll be in the plane with me......Also....Parts In the Bahamas are expensive and hard to find.

18 footers ought to do yah.  Figure 4' under the helm, 10' back to the starboard corner, 4' for rigging...

May be able to get away with 16s, but I'd hate to be short.  BTW, boatersland.com has excellent prices.  I'd go with the Teleflex XTremes...

im running 18 ft'ers on my osprey, perfect length, IMO.

bob, youve seen them, what you think?

As Aaron says, 18's work.  His 200 Osprey had the proper length, enough to work with, yet not too much to wonder what you're going to do with the excess...

Here's the 18s on Aaron's boat, a nice gentle bend under the helm...

I think Aquasport center consoles used 16 footers by default, but 18 would work, 'cuz, as Huey Lewis said "better to have and not need than to need and not have..."

Yellow is used for 12VDC ground.  It stems from the European Union (CE) calling for a different color wire when both 12VDC and 120VAC are present on a boat.  The use of yellow (hey, they picked it, I didn't...but I kinda like it) for 12V- differentiates between 120V hot.  So, if you don't have 120VAC on your boat, why use yellow for 12V-?  Well, remember, I come from the ranks of OEM builders.  It was more cost effective for us to carry one harness that could be used both here in the States as well as overseas.  ABYC allows for the use of either black or yellow for boats built and sold here in the states, but when section E-11 is updated in 2013, don't be surprised to see the standards mimic the Europeans...

As far as gauge, 10 to feed a panel, 14 for pumps, 16 for lights and electronics...

I like the yellow because you can track wires and bundles more easily if you have an issue.
