Console Seat Gas Struts
« on: September 18, 2009, 07:29:12 AM »
On my 1997 245 Osprey CC: Does anyone have a part number or know where to get the shock struts that hold the seat up on the front of the Console?  Thanks
Marc

Marc,
I believe those were 40 lb. struts on that seat.  Can't remember who the manufacturer was, but currently, at Proline, we are using struts made by Ameritool.  Excellent hardware, and the neat thing about them is they have the force rating engraved into the strut body, no sticker to fall off and leave you wondering what pound rating they were!  Here's a link:  http://www.ameritoolmfg.com/

Doug,
My pleasure.  The good thing is they fit the same ball sockets you have on the seat and console, and they don't need a clip to secure them.  I am good friends with the Springfield hardware rep who keeps trying to sell us their struts, but, believe me, the decals fall off over the years...well, you know what I mean.
