What I started with







The floor has been replaced at least once with knee braces that were just tabbed to the floor, not through to the stringers.

This is going down to the hull and back.  Will be making changes throughout, including stringer setup, full transom, front deck layout who knows what else.

Pile of wet flooring, if I had to guess, 300+#'s of wet wood, was only covered with 1 1/2 oz mat



Who ever replaced this the first time...I digress.   The stringers were 1/2" bare plywood that were just stuck in original stringer locations then scabbed up higher to raise floor

The tank was plumbed to the original copper fuel line

Lewis, when I was at PL, they brought an old flatback in to the plant to do a floor replacement (a friend of Johnny Walker's).  Didn't think much of it, was back in lam one day and looked inside the hull.  "Those...are stringers?  WTF!"  Cheapa$$ boats back in those days...

Futch - you keeping the entire liner and tabbing back into it, or turning it into a cap and tabbing to the outer hull?  Still looks like you've got some good parts to work with.     T-top and console salvageable?

Thinking of turning the liner into a pseudo cap mold and redesigning a little bit.  T top will be gone and console replaced or changed considerably, it's too wide for what I want and may put a shorty tower in it, not sure yet.  Also want to change the front step to add 8' rod lockers and storage in middle.  There will also be storage under the floor.  I am going to go back with beefier center (inside)  stringers with bulk heads out to sides and tie the floor into the side for extra support.

At least that is what I have pictured now.

Had a little time to do some more demo, finished cutting the front deck out, amazed at how this thing was originally rebuilt.

Still no glass on the back, but they put extra wood in to make up for it

Who needs stringers with that much wood in the deck  





I think between the deck and the floor I've pulled out 700#'s of wet wood, etc.  I couldn't lift the front deck pieces, I had to slide them over the side     Anyhow, hopefully will decide what I'm going to do with the liner and get started on it this week.  Don't know if I want to keep it or cut it down to just a cap.  Leaning toward just a cap right now.  Any suggestions?

I was looking over your pics, was that rebuild done by a previous owner? That is horrendous.
