I never noticed either of your boats coming out of the canal, my dad lives on Venetian and Shore Acres Blvd. Who are you having spray the boat?

my dad keeps his boat at Madeira beach marina, and i keep the AS at my work (Harborage marina), only time i bring the boat home is to work on it, unless its rough, out i hardly ever go through the canals.

one of my parents friends works for marine max, does paint, gel, and glass work. he's doin the work

Aaron,
I'm just over the "bridge" from you in Manatee County and will looking for somebody to paint my '70 22-2 soon. Would your guy be interested? It's a bare hull/floor - no console or motor.

Also, I was going to look into Salt Creek marina for the bottom job (redo existing). Any comments/suggestions.

Thanks

ill check with him when i drop the boat off at his shop next week...

couldnt wait to do something, painted the console over the last few days with Interlux Brightsides "steel gray" using the roll and tip method...

total of 5 coats, waiting at least 5-6 hours between each coat, came out pretty smooth. mixed a little too much thinner on the last coat started getting a few runs... its lighter than i was expecting out in the sun... still need to touch-up in the nooks and crannies..

i actually applied 6 coats, with the last coat straight from the can, no thinner. looks as if it was sprayed on, almost perfectly smooth

continuing work on the boat today, piecing the console back together... came up with an idea for the jackplate rocker switch that didnt involve drilling any more holes in the console... used the blank space on the omc shift cover, cut out a small rectangle with the dremel and a cutting bit:

also used the hole where the compass was for an extra cup holder, will be ordering a new windshield from upd plastics once the boat is done painted...

Great progress! My 19-6 is in the middle of a complete re-do as well.  Kuddos to you for your progress, as mine is going alot slower..... But I'm getting there.....  Good Luck and keep up the good work.
