I'll be coming back home from a trip on the 3rd.  Looks like that'll be the preferred date though - hope everyone shows up that voted.  
I opted for the 24th.  For a 1 day gathering I'd bring the 170 although the bay can get pretty nasty for a small boat.  May be best to put in at Ft Desoto Park - nice ramp there.

Launching from Ft. Desoto is a good idea.  Thats a nice ramp but I wish it had a little more angle to it for my boat.   I'm not sure where I'm going to launch from yet.  Maybe some of us can meet up at a ramp and head to the island together.   I guess that brings the next question.  Where on the island are we going to meet?  Are you allowed to have a grill or something on the beach there?  A cook out would be GREAT!

I usually anchor on the east side near the lighthouse, usually calm as glass even on windy days, and eastern is somewhat shallow so its easy to get on the island. Can beach up or anchor out... I can post a map later showing where i go if ya'll want

My plan is the weather is going to be great and I'm going to take the gulf up from Sarasota  :D

heres where we usually go when out at egmont, theres a bar that runs parallel to the island(yellow like) that breaks up most wave action, the red arrow is where we usually go, water is a tad bit deeper than other spots on the east side, we've had no problems getting the Sea Ray up close to the beach, water is about waist deep 20 ft from the beach.
