« on: September 06, 2018, 02:23:15 PM »
Hello Gang ,
Anyone have any info on what happened to the 2300DC? On you tube there is a nice 5 minute piece on the boat that was done by Boating World magazine.

Thanks !!

No,
But then I  never really looked.
Then again, I  have looked at Hydra Sports so I'm  not sure if that counts.  :ScrChin:

Yup, Hydrasport bought the Aquasport brand name and is using the brand on their boat designs.

I believe it was a company named Ebb Tide that bought the Aqua name and some older Hydra molds and created the Aqua-Hydra-Sport.

A Chinese gentleman/company owns Ebbtide.  They bought the rights to the Aquasport name, brand, logos etc.  There were no molds or anything left after Genmar shut down Aquasport production and subsequent bankruptcy.  All the molds etc were scrapped long ago.  Of course Hydrasports has new owners and they have shifted the product line to larger boats dropping all the smaller boats.  Ebbtide purchased a couple of former hydra sport hull and deck molds.  The President of Ebbtide is Richard Anderson who was the former VP of Wellcraft and GM for Aquasport when they were being produced by Genmar.  When the rumors were spreading about Ebbtide reviving Aquasport I decided the heck with it and called Ebbtide.  I spoke with a really nice girl with a southern accent that new very little about it and was nicely trying to blow me off.... when she said hang on a moment.  She put me on hold and Richard the President of Ebbtide picked up the phone...  He overheard her conversation with me decided to take my call.  He was very nice and he did confirm that they were using Hydrasport hull molds as a starting point for a few new models including a 2300 Center console and Dual console.  They were modifying/building new caps and stringer grids for them.  So they are not truly Hydrasports wearing Aqausport dress.  We also talked about them coming out with larger models after the first year or so.  He asked me about my Explorer and if I thought there was a market today for that style of hull.  I told him that I thought so since it is a great do most anything boat.  He was very nice and was genuinely interested in hearing my opinions and input.  Not sure what happened though.  Maybe they decided to go another way.  I didn't see very much in the unveiling and advertising that he spoke of.

Hello there Aquasporters

I'm not yet an owner, but considering buying my friends 2015 2300 DC.  Its fully loaded in terms of the hardware and only has 70hrs on the engine.
I'm trying to find anything to help me figure out what the real value should be, but I've been unable to find any comps as there clearly weren't a ton of them made, and for the most part those aren't being resold at this point yet. Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Three year old hull that sold new somewhere in the high 50s to low 60s :ScrChin:
What did your friend pay new?
Condition?
Power?
Accessories?
Rarity? Does that create worth in a 3 yo boat????
How much are you willing to pay? What's he willing to take?

True value, who knows. You saw the post above so you know we know very little, (especially about current worth) of this model. I did a quick search and found few if any for sale. That's the only info you are going to find. The Ebbtide site still loads but appears non-functional. I'd say you'll be on your own.

Good luck. :thumright:

I believe new it was $70k
Condition, other than one bang up hinge on the door to the head (storage!) needs to be replaced, but else its mint.
250 Evinrude ETec
stored indoors
Accessories- dunno what was standdard but has full GPS, Radio, etc
Rarity? dunno- not many around from what i can tell. I don't actually know where to look.

Thats where i was looking for some help. Thought maybe there was a 'inside aquasport' listings page ;)

He asked the marina who sold it to him, they said they can sell it for $40k no problem. So likely looking at 30-35k, which seems like a go zone for essentially very lightly used engine/set up.
