Shaft Length
« on: February 04, 2016, 01:21:28 PM »
:?: I have a 1986 22.2 Center Console. There is a 25in merc on it now. That Shaft seems VERY long!!!
Anyone know what the proper length is supposed to be on there? Would a 20in be better?

Measure from the notch in the transom (assuming it is the standard transom) to the bottom of the hull and that will tell you.

Assuming you have an Osprey, transom height is 25"

Then again, you may have a CCP but that too has a 25" transom height.

Good luck. :thumright:

Sorry it took so long to get back... It was a 25in on second hole.
I have decided to sell the 22 because I bought an Osprey the other day :danceSm:
