Title: Repowering 200CCP center console
Post by: CaseyJones on February 12, 2020, 02:23:20 PM
So I've got a 20' ccp center console 1984 with a 1998 225 hp Johnson. I'm repowering with a 2008 200hp etec.   Right now I'm turning a 14 1/4" X 21" prop which the shop told me I could no longer use because the exhaust would melt the old style rubber hub.  Ive got to change over to a new style hub with an insert.  Is anyone familiar with this change over? most importantly is any guideance or suggestions on what diameter and pitch prop Might be best for this new setup?   Thanks in advance

Nice boat!  I can’t help you with the ETEC.  My CCP has a four stroke merc.  If you haven’t already, you may want to post your question over on The Hull Truth.  There is a lot of engine traffic and at least 2 pros (Ken from Prop Gods & Tom Hall) who regularly help with prop questions.

Have you tried one of the online prop selection tools? I used the mercury tool to select the prop for my Mercury Four Stroke 150 on my CCP. It was spot on with its recommendation. I don’t know if evenrude has a similar tool. If not, the merc tool would give you a starting point even if you don’t want to go with a mercury prop.
