I fixed your other picture for you.

Good looking ride.  What does it need?  What are you rebuilding?  Good luck with it.  There is a ton of help online here for all to use.

thank you for the help.

Bought the boat originaly just planning to rebuild it but was able to get it running, and got some use out of it.  The floor in the boat is done(when i say done I mean trash). Trailer broke the other day.  Already purchased a new trailer.  So within the next couple of weeks plan on getting the motor off, transfering the boat to new trailer then gutting the whole thing.  The final plan is to close in the transom new floor porta bracket power pole ext. fishing machine.  Before this boat i had a 17ft maverick that was a good shallow boat but when it came to runnin across open water was a very wet boat.   Wasnt sure if I was going to like this hull (originaly wanted a 222) but the old flats boat was sold to a friend and when out on the water a couple months ago this boat was floating just as shallow as the old one.   I will have alot of questions for everyone as I have zero fiberglass experiance but no what i want in the final product.   So as long as I can make it strong if I have to put Twice as much effort into making it look smooth and clean in the end thats fine with me.

Welcome to the family! Your boat is identical to my 82 19-6..Everyone on here will help you get it to where you want it...As far as fiberglass experience goes, I had none before I got my Aquasport...But with the help offered around here you should have no problems getting it done..Fiberglass isn't that hard, it's very messy though. As like yours my floor was toast, I cut it all out and am now rebuilding it back, already have the stringers done and am in the middle of doing the fuel tank box and my new underfloor storage that will be under my leaning post. Go ahead and figure to replace all foam...it's usually wet. And as everyone on here will tell you, if you do the work you will know exactly how it was done and will know more about your boat than most, which always helps when the time comes to chase a problem...When you start demo, post up pics so we can all see....

thanks for the welcome everyone.

I just have a few early questions before i get started parts of my casting platform or front deck are rotted out so planned on removing that to.  The one thing that worries me is I see you guys do the rebuilds on these boats that are older and do not have the liner like my boat.  (1) So it looks like u are glassing directly to the outside hull were i do have a liner is that going to change the way i remove exsisting deck from boat.   Im clueless here. (2) Also is there one type of fiberglass matt I can use for everypart of the rebuild. (3) I see transom rebuilds done all different ways Im planning on closing the transom in completly so is it best to leave exsisting outter skin or cut completly out.  Thanks you for any input in advance you can provide

Two ways to look at the front casting deck..1. you can cut it out the same way as the floor, leaving about 2 inches around the perimeter to reattach it or 2. remove the entire cap...this would take a couple of people to lift off and you will have to make some cuts at the rear, but it's doable...if you go option 1 you get to leave the liner part and have a good place to glass it back together, same as the floor..you will need to make sure you have some foam behind the liner so it won't flex where the new meets the old..as far as fiberglass, if you are going to use epoxy, you will not use matt, on my rebuild I am mostly using 17oz biaxial fglass on both sides of the floor, on the topside of the floor I will top the 17oz with 6oz 45/45 cloth for a little smoother finish..Get you some 4in, 8in, 12in tabbing glass(comes in 50yd rolls), you will use a lot of it...as far as the transom, I can't help much there as I was lucky that my 19-6 had the transom poured by a PO..but there are many on here that can lead you down the right path...start checking out some of the previous rebuilds,it helped me get a plan of action and gave me a good reference to get thru the parts I've gotten done so far...if you want some input on materials ,I started with boatbuildercentral.com got all my liquids and fillers there, got my cloth materials at uscomposites.com, both were easy to deal with and I got good service...

Well the casting deck should just be cut off the liner then you can tab it back in when its recored. I would use biaxial glass with mat on the backside (1708). If you can leave the outer skin do it. It will save alot of work. Are you planning on recoring everything or just adding the extension to close the transom? Ideally youd want the core full height but if the one thats in there is fine adding to it is no big deal...

Welcome aboard florida196!  As others have said, this site is FILLED with helpful people and tons of knowledge.  I have been a member since June and haven't found a single member that was anything other than helpful and nice.  There are a bunch of us with 19-6's like me and fitz.  Do a search for 19-6 and you will get pages of threads.  As far as the transom (just my opinion), I would not cut the outside of the transom unless I had to.  There are several threads on here about how to cut out the inner skin and grind away the rotten wood without touching the outer layer of glass.  I am in the process of replacing my transom right now from the outside.  I feel like it is a harder job to do correctly than to do it from the inside.  The only reason why I am doing it that way is because I had just put a new floor in mine when I realized that my transom was bad and I was unwilling to rip it all out and start over.  In my humble (and wrong according to my wife) opinion, you will keep a lot more of the strength being able to tab into the stringers as well as the hull sides and floor and not have to worry about how to tab around the outside corners of the hull.  I look forward to seeing lots of pics of your progress.  One tip......  Even if you do nothing new to your boat for a while, come by the site often.  First of all, the site will not e-mail you to let you know you have responses to posts (even though you can pick that option from the CP) and these guys do a great job of keeping you excited and motivated!

Again,

W E L C O M E !

well was able to get a little work done on the boat today.  Got the motor all derigged and cables out of the way, the old fuel tank is out now.  console out of the boat so can start work on that and maybe get a little fiberglass experiance practice on that before begining on the boat.  Didnt get as much done as I hoped but baby steps is better than no steps.  Next will be the old floor coming out and foam.

spectre ya its a mess right now and theres just so many ideas going threw my head about what i want the end result to be like its hard to focus sometimes and pretty sure everyone i no is tire of me talking about it.  But also i love what u did with your console and resembles alot of the pathfinder.  I plan on trying to duplicate on my console rebuild if you dont mind.
