Buying my 225 Osprey today!
« on: December 06, 2010, 10:11:16 AM »
Hello All,

My name is Nate and I'm new to the forum as I am buying my first AS today.
I just sold a Wellcraft 238 Coastal WA which is almost identical or maybe it is to the 225 Osprey Tournament Hull I am buying.  It is a 2003 with a 200hp Yami Saltwater.  I am looking for a spec sheet on this boat, if anyone has it that would be great or if you know the data on LOA, weight, etc.
I also need to put a trailer under it soon and could use any advice you all might have on size and style.

Thanks,
Nate

These are both from the 04 catalog but I would bet there was little change.

I could be wrong but.......

Nate,
First, congrats on the 225, you'll love her!  I built them from '94-'00, so I know every inch of her.  Second, I also used to build the 238 CCF, later the 240, which shared the hull with your Coastal.  The WC hull and the AS hulls are 2 entirely different hulls.  While they may be simalar in length and beam, they are 2 different animals...

Any questions fire away, you are in the right place!

Congrats and welcome aboard.  :salut:

Not sure where you live, but the Owen brothers, here in St.pete make some really nice (custom fit) trailers.

Nate,
Skoot's right, Owens makes an excellent trailer.  But the trailer Pete has under his Osprey is really the perfect fit, as the boat/trailer combination is factory...

If he's serious, he'll be back.  In the meantime, do as I do.  Relax, and enjoy the conversation... :thumleft:
