Latch or fastener needed for bow compartment
« on: May 11, 2018, 04:44:10 PM »
Hi,

I'm looking for ideas on how to fasten closed the bow compartment pictured below.  The current fastener resembles the kind of super strong plastic velcro you'd use to put an EZPass on your car windshield, but it screws in so it doesn't run the risk of getting pulled off after many cycles of opening/closing.  However, this one is 30+ years old so it's lost its bite, and the compartment flies open constantly.

I haven't been able to find anything like the fastener that's on there now.  Other thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks.

I have never seen one like that - maybe someone that has a boat of that era (1987 200 Osprey) might show what their latch looks like.

That's a dual lock type fastener. Same thing I had on my 86 170 hatch like yours. I found those several years ago for a member but I don't recall where. I think they still are available. I'll take a look when I get a chance.

Here ya go.

Good luck. :thumright:

That's the one.  Thank you!

Now just have to find somewhere I can buy it, without buying 1000 of them.
