2000 205 Osprey Fuel sender question
« on: July 31, 2017, 05:12:58 PM »
Need to replace fuel sender in my 2000 205 Osprey.
Problem I am having is the round access port is not over the sender.
It's about 20" away and I don't have access to the sender.  I can touch with my fingers but there is very little clearance to even get a wrench in there. Why Genmar built it this was is anybody's guess.
I hate to cut out an access hole right above the sender but may be my only option.
Wish I had a picture but my boat is at our weekend place 150 miles away.
Any suggestions?
Sure am glad I found this Forum  :singing:

Sabre or jig saw.

You have no choice if you want the gauge to work. Even if you could reach the fasteners under the deck, you could not remove the sender due to same. You need an open space above it so.....

Good luck. :thumright:
