Title: Minimum Sized Kicker on a 1981 222 CCP
Post by: Woodeneye on May 18, 2017, 07:51:44 PM
I'm considering putting a kicker on my CCP. What do you guys think would be the minimum size to get me out of trouble? Furthest out from Westport I get is Cuttyhunk Island. About 8 miles in a straight shot.
Also I'm guessing a bracket for mounting/unmounting and a seperate fuel supply is prudent?

10hp min... 15hp better. Like many outboards several 10 hp and 15hp are the same motor.

That surprises me. I thought at least 30hp. Good thing I asked. 15hp would certainly be easier on the wallet. I guess it'd push you along at 8 knots or so?
