1978 200 CCP
« on: April 05, 2018, 04:42:01 PM »
Decided to pick me up something to play with.  This CCP was in the seller's family since new.  The cap was removed around 10 years ago and the deck was replaced from underneath.  Transom was done at that time as well.  For some reason the tank and the rotten hatch over the tank were not addressed then :?:

Pulled the tank hatch and to my surprise the tank was foamed in :a0004:  I have never seen a CCP with a foamed in tank.  It was a factory foam job!  The tank is also 73 gallons.  The brochure for the '78 says that it has a 50 gallon tank :?:  The tank has no plate identifying who made it?  Maybe the foam was experimental for this CCP.

This CCP is very solid and has a great deal of potential but needs a lot of work.

Anyway, have a new tank on order and re-coring the tank coffin hatch.  I will post more of my progress as I continue.

Here are some pictures before she was cleaned up.  She cleaned up nice.

ADMIN Help - JD you grabbed the thumbnail link on a few - I fixed it.

Congrats on the find and new family member. She doesn't look too bad - neglected boat syndrome. Based on your long history here she'll be shiny soon.

Thanks Rick!  Thanks mshugg - one thing is for sure, she won't be like yours.  That is a great re-build that you have going!

Capt Bob - she is loaded out with teak.  Most of it is in great shape!  I am missing one of the teak rod holders that goes in the gunnel and the other is not in that good of shape.  I would sure love to find 2 of those.  Can you guys keep your eyes out for those?  Thanks.

Still waiting for tank.  Going on four weeks and still no tank :a0004:  Ordered from Phil at Alloy - didn't know the turn around would be so long.

In the meantime, got 90% of rotten wood dug out of gas tank hatch.  Getting ready for the new wood and epoxy.
